Today's album is the 1978 follow-up to "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes". After the success of "Margaritaville", Jimmy continued to pop out the hits. "Son Of A Song Of A Sailor" is Jimmy's shortest album to date, containing just 9 songs. One of those songs is the very popular "Cheeseburger In Paradise". The song is based on the true story of Jimmy and some friends who were stranded at sea on a boat without power and little to eat. When they finally drifted ashore to an island, starving, they enjoyed what tasted like the greatest cheeseburger they had ever eaten! Two of my all-time favorite songs are also on this album, "Cowboy in the Jungle" and "MaƱana".
Today I get a break from the T-shirt portion of the countdown.... (hey, its a family blog, so the whole family gets to participate!)
I bought Laura this shirt from the Margaritaville Glendale, Arizona online store. Neither of us have ever been to this location (it opened less than a year ago), but their online store had lots of new items that hadn't been offered at the other locations. I have a few shirts of my own from the Glendale store that I'll feature later in the countdown.
Anyway its a simple yellow shirt with Jimmy Buffett's signature across the front. Its most recognizable as the album cover of "Songs You Know By Heart" (Jimmy's greatest hits album) - which is in practically everyone's CD collection somewhere.
That's it for today! See ya tomorrow.
-Bert
